John “Witness” Parr

Witness isn’t even a lyricist to me; he’s a poet who could rap circles around who is now considered the best in the business without even needing to stop for air. He could make Jay-Z look like a preschooler who likes to recite nursery rhymes during show and tell.  You don’t listen to his music so much as allow him to etch it on your skin, your heart, your mind, leaving faint traces after the song is over, like Shadowhunter graffiti.

It breaks my heart to think that someone as talented as John has to be a starving artist while gimmicks like Lil’ Wayne are actually considered to be some of the greatest rappers ever.
